The Holmes Lady Bulldogs have officially started their fall season with a record of one loss and one win. The Lady Bulldogs played this past Wednesday Sep. 6 against the Southwest Bears and the Meridian Eagles at Meridian Community College. The first game was against the Southwest Bears where the Bulldogs came out on top with a win. Charlee Rose Tierce shared her thoughts on the first game.

“We started the game off strong with a line drive catch back to the pitcher Annie Sartin and then two in the park home-runs from Meg Glasgow and Brooke Mitchell.”

The second game against the Lady Eagles also started off strong. Holding the Eagles 5-0 until the last couple innings left the Lady Bulldogs with a loss 7-5.

“We played as a team in both games and made mistakes that we could easily fix, but I don’t think it was a bad first game for us.” said Cambell Blaine, the left fielder for the Lady Bulldogs.

This week the Bulldogs will be back in action Wednesday, September 13 at home in Goodman, Mississippi at 3 p.m. against Southwest and at 7 p.m. against Meridian. They will travel to Hinds on Friday, Sep. 15 with the first game beginning at 2 p.m. against Hinds and at 4 p.m. against Jackson State.
