“While recycling is great in a lot of ways, the ultimate goal is to get people to prevent waste in the first place,” said McKenzie Jones, who works in the field of environmental science.
Only 32 percent of the United States recycle. Reducing filth in the environment requires recycling plastic, cardboard or even paper. Due to plastic taking many years to completely decompose, improper disposal can lead to build up in landfills and natural ecosystems, causing long-term harm and filth. This reduces the amount of waste produced and stops dangerous chemicals from leaking into water and land. Also recycling also reduce energy consumption.
Additionally, recycling plastic saves natural resources and energy. Contrarily, recycling consumes a lot less energy, which helps to maintain our limited natural resources and reduce our carbon impact. Recycling all items can help avoid raw materials process and requires less heat and energy. It also helps them to not waste more time and material. People even use recycling as a job in a way to help their community.
Lastly, plastic recycling boosts the economy overall. It promotes creativity in creating environmentally friendly goods and packaging. Recycling helps people create a cleaner, greener society and support local economies in addition to improving the health of the environment. Also, keeping your community clean could help keep diseases and other bacteria from spreading.
“You can recycle today for a better tomorrow,” Jones said. “Recycling take a little effort on your part, but makes a big difference to the world.”
