Love is in the air at the Holmes Community College Ridgeland Campus! The Student Government Association provided candy, props and a spot for photo ops in the lobby of Ridgeland Hall on Tuesday.
“What better way to celebrate Valentines than to celebrate it with the Holmes CC family,” said Olasike Olagbegi, SGA president. “Even though this is not a big event, we did want to decorate and have our treats to show our students that we are thinking about them and we love them. Because it is Valentines Day, we want everyone to have a sweet Valentines.”
The setup made students like Aisha Sall feel loved. Sall had just received a Valentines gift from her best friend before having fun with a photo shoot.
“It is a wonderful thing to be appreciated,” said Sall. “It is like showing your love and affection towards family and friends.”
The SGA wasn’t the only one giving out Valentine’s happies. The eLearning office gave out everything from pens to phone loops. Students could receive these items on all campuses.
In Goodman, they were located on McDaniel Hall room 11. In Ridgeland, they were located in Ridgeland Hall room 212B. In Grenada, they were located in the Phillips Hall Office Suite.
“We just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day on behalf of eLearning,” said eLearning Systems Administrator Sharon Farris. “Today, we wanted give out happies to all our students to let them know that we wish them a Happy Valentines Day and where all our offices are on all three campuses.”
