Powerful hip-hop voice Ye West’s (formerly Kanye) downward spiral continues amidst recent controversy. The Grammy award-winning rapper recently appeared in an interview with DJ Akademiks. In said interview. West wore a shirt designed by fellow rapper and convicted felon Sean “Diddy” Combs paired with a swastika pendant and an all-black version of the traditional Klu Klux Klan robes- pointy hat and all.

This, unsurprisingly, sparked a largely negative reaction across social media. Some users on X wrote, “Surely, he must be aware of how this attire was used against Blacks to instill fear and hate, yet he wears this costume with pride in his attempt to garner attention.” Someone else commented, “Kanye West appeared for an interview wearing a black KKK-inspired outfit, commenting he had a white version as well, and they were both custom-made. What’s going on with Ye?”

However, some are behind West’s decisions in this interview, with some comments under the interview’s YouTube video reading, “Kanye is our goat. Kanye for Pr esident,” “There is some truth in the crazy. He has been betrayed by his own men, he is very Shakespearean,” and “This is awesome.”

West’s public image isn’t the only thing that’s been affected by recent controversy. West’s wife Bianca Censori has also been roped in. In West’s upcoming album titled “WW3,” on the track “BIANCA,” West raps lyrics such as “She’s having a panic attack, and she is not liking the way that I tweeted.” All of this followed West’s confirmation that he and Censori are “not on the same page.” Their marriage lasted two years.

Time will tell how these events will affect West’s career in the long run, but it most likely won’t be positive.
