To those who don’t know what the COVID -19 vaccine is, it is a vaccine intended to provide acquired immunity against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019. The initial focus of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines was on preventing symptomatic, often severe illness.

We have been experiencing this virus since the start of 2020. Masks and vaccines are now the new norm. I recently did a few interviews, with students who would like to remain anonymous, to get their input on getting the COVID vaccine. Many are on board and many are skeptical about getting the shot.

While others are on board to get the shot to help stop the spread, many are skeptical because you can still catch it even with the vaccine. Some have even died from the side effects of taking the shot. Whatever one chooses to do is their personal opinion and I feel they have that right as a person. I don’t understand how people who are vaccinated feel it is okay to call unvaccinated people stupid and dumb. As long as a person is taking the necessary steps to keep themselves safe, for example wearing a mask, then that will help slow the spread as well. Ultimately, the goal is to get things back to normal so I hope the nation can come together as one and knock this plague out of our land.
