The STEM department held their first annual Turk-a-Thon at the Ridgeland Campus on Tuesday.

The relay race and walk started and finished at Science Building West. Participants were encouraged to dress up as a turkey.

Inside the building, there were healthy alternatives to holiday treats prepared by the Culinary Arts program, free massages from the Massage Therapy program, vital signs checks from ADN Nursing students and “turkey” yoga.

Biology Instructor Rosalyne Davis hoped to bring the school together by putting the community back into Holmes Community College.

“That is what it was all about, us having a sense of community for the students. We want to give them an experience, college experience. This is something they can think about later on and smile about. I know I had fun today,” Davis said.
