Invitations for Phi Theta Kappa are set to be sent out to eligible students on Feb 6.

“On Monday, I will roll out or figure out who our list of invitees are,” said Stephanie Blue, PTK advisor. ” I will then upload that roll to Phi Theta Kappa headquarters. Then, they send out the emails inviting Holmes students who have met the requirements into Phi Theta Kappa.”

To qualify, students must have completed 15 hours, be currently enrolled in the next semester and have an overall GPA of 3.5.

Membership provides scholarships for transfers to a four-year university. There is a $90 lifetime fee to join. To remain in PTK, members must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Members will take part in two chapter meetings each semester and take part in yearly projects.

Officer applications with more scholarship opportunities will open next week due in late February.

One of the 2022 officers, Garrett Viator, greatly enjoyed his time in office and is looking forward to passing torch to the class of 2023.

“I feel like they will have a better experience here with new implementation of intramural sports on the campus,” said Viator. They are going to have a much better time here socially. They are going to have more outlets to have a good community college experience.”
